Optical Character Recognition, OCR gives your application the ability to convert high-resolution image files containing typewritten/printed text, into editable text. As an example, you could use this feature to upload scanned letters or old faxes to Google Docs. The server will attempt to extract the text from the images; creating a new Google Doc for each image.
